At Free UK Genealogy, we wish to help as many people as possible in their family history research. As well as our own records, the below list provides access to a number of useful links. Please note, not all are free to access.

Children's Homes. Information on the many and varied institutions that became home for thousands of children and young people in Britain.

CoraWeb. CoraWeb is a comprehensive website for researching your Australian family history, holding many useful resources.

Cyndi's List. Cyndi's List is a list of links that point you to genealogical research sites online. It is free for everyone to use and it is meant to be your starting point when researching online. 

Database for Special Interest Groups. If your ancestors were British Home Children, German Pork Butchers, Travelling People or Watermen (Canal and River boats) then you may find them there.

Dusty Docs. Links to free websites in the British Isles containing Parish Records.

Federation of Family History Societies. Supporting family historians for 40 years.

FamilySearch. FamilySearch is not-for-profit family history organisation, providing access to records, resources and services. It is the largest - and one of the most popular - genealogy organisations in the world. 

Forces War Records. Forces War Records is the ONLY site where you can find military records of over 10 Million British Armed Forces personnel exclusively cross matched with over 4000 Regiments, Bases and Ships of the British Armed Forces going back to before 1630, making your genealogy task much easier and more complete.

Genealogy Stack Exchange. A question and answer site for expert genealogists and people interested in genealogy or family history.

General Register Office. The General Register Office maintains the national archive of all births, deaths and marriages dating back to 1837.

Guild of One-Name Studies. Family historians usually concentrate on their own family tree; one-name studies seek all occurrences of a single name, throughout the world. The Guild of One-Name Studies is the worldwide centre of excellence in one-name studies.

Interment. Interment is a free online library of cemetery records from thousands of cemeteries across the world, for historical and genealogy research.

Register of Qualified Genealogists. The RQG provides a public record of genealogists who hold a recognised qualification in the field of genealogy and associated practices, and who may be willing to provide professional services in that field.

Religious Archives Group. The RAG gives information on the location of principal archives of religious traditions and denominations originating in and relating to the United Kingdom.

Roma Heritage. A project mapping Romany Gypsy & Traveller Parish records in the UK. At present, there is a growing database of almost 3000 baptisms, marriages & burials, alongside old newspaper articles and census records.

The Society of Genealogists. The Society of Genealogists holds many collections valuable for family history research. Plenty of their indexes are available online.

The Soldiers of Gloucestershire. The Soldiers of Gloucestershire is a free database containing over 40,000 soldiers details from WWI and 10,000 from the 19th Century.

Wikitree. Wikitree is an open access project, working on creating The Free Family Tree - an accurate, single family tree that connects us all.

The Workhouse. A hub of information on the social history, politics, economics and architecture of Victorian workhouses.
